Hello and welcome to the spookiest of months! You guys enjoyed the ‘what to read this Autumn’ post the other week, so I thought I’d follow up with some binge-able series and seasonal films to sweeten the deal.
I’ve also dropped in a few of my favourite artists right now, and a gorgeous poem that my friend wrote following the felling of the tree at Sycamore Gap. Let’s get into it!

🌳 Ode to a Sycamore tree by Laura Charlton
Don’t forget to show the poem some love on the original post!
🎨 Artist corner: Kathryn Robertson, muralist, artist, and illustrator
I’ve been obsessed with Kathryn’s series of illustrations touching on the gentrification of a city like Sunderland. There’s a lot of good that can come with the development of an under-served area, but the reality is that with development comes higher rents, displacement, even less affordable housing, more homelessness, loss of social diversity, and more.

Check out the full shebang on her Instagram—she’s an insanely talented artist doing everything from murals to digital pieces for the likes of P!nk and Beyoncé. She also takes commissions from time to time, so if you’re thinking about getting something unique for your loved ones this Christmas, now’s the time to get an order in I reckon.
That’s a wrap on this edition of the Sunday (not-so) scaries! Let me know what you think of today’s newsletter, and if you’ve got any artists, TV shows, poems, and so on to share, drop them in a comment. I’m always on the lookout for more. Thanks so much for reading!
Awh thank you so much for the feature! 💜
Bookmarking this as I’ve seen so few of these films & shows, so my cosy autumn is SORTED.
Also obsessed with the art work you’ve shared there - the first one with the cat is so gorgeous.
